Sticky Fingers Tribute Bootleg

On the 19th of November 2011 Melbourne's Cherry Bar on ACDC Lane held a 40th Anniversary tribute to the release of Sticky Fingers. The All Star band featured some of Melbournes finest Rock'n'Roll practitioners. Including Matt Sonic, Spencer P Jones, Andre Warhurst, Dave Larkin, Carl Treasure and The Wolfgramm Sisters.

The night was recorded in bootleg style on an iPhone placed at the sound desk. The recording is far from perfect but it captured the energy from the crowd and performers.

Spencer P Jones - Wasn't Born Yesterday

I make no secret of the fact that I'm an admirer of the work of Spencer P Jones.

Before mixing his solo set, I requested that he play Wasn't Born Yesterday from his great album Fait Accompli. He was kind enough to play it. And of course I was bold enough to record it.

Enjoy

Bloody Hollies (USA) bust Australian Cherry

Where are all the rock n roll fans 'gathering' this weekend? At Cherry, of course!  The Bloody Hollies originally from New York now live in San Diego California. They dominate the genuine garage raw rock scene both in America and Europe where they have toured extensively throughout their stellar eight year career. Now, for the first time, The Bloody Hollies tour Australia on the back of their 4th LP 'Yours Until The Bitter End' playing two shows only at Cherry Bar in AC/DC Lane Melbourne, this Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th of November supported by The Devilrock Four and Bitter Sweet Kicks. Tix $20 & $15 (on Sunday), only from the Cherry Door. If it's murder-themed blues/rock anthems that remind you of the 60s and 70s golden age of rock n roll that you crave, then The Bloody Hollies might just change your life. Cherry owner James Young who is touring the band says, "What can I say, I'm touring these guys, cos they're my favourite live band in the world and I want Melbourne to see them. End of story."

My Dynamite - Cherry's Wednesday Residency for November

We here at Cherry rate My Dynamite as one damn fine rock band. Think Faces, and Black Crowes. Featuring fabulous guitar work from Benny and Jorge, solid grooves, from Simo and Travis, and a lovable front man in the form of Pat.

They'll be playing Cherry every Wednesday, with support from The Working Horse Irons
